Senior Payroll Officer

As Billini enters an exciting period of continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and reliable Senior Payroll Officer to own our payroll function end-to-end and make sure our people are paid accurately and on time, every week. This newly created role is based at our head office in Marrickville and collaborates with our HR and Finance teams to provide trusted advice on legislation and policy, drive process improvement and deliver a compliant payroll service. 

primary job responsibilities & duties

 

  •   Manage and process the end-to-end weekly payroll cycle for approx. 500 employees, including data entry, leave, adjustments, reconciliations, month-end tasks and payments.

  •   Manage end-to-end employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring all setups, terminations and final pay calculations are completed accurately and on time.

  •   Manage the payroll mailbox and respond to queries in a professional and timely manner.

  • Prepare and submit employer payments including superannuation, payroll tax and workers' compensation.

  • Providing expert advice to senior management on payroll compliance, taxation and legislative changes

  • Ensure compliance with legislation, tax requirements and company policies.

  • Lead internal payroll audits, reporting and payroll data analysis.

  • Actively support the rollout of the new Time & Attendance system, including testing, data validation and process documentation.

  • Actively identify and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancements
